Fairfield Prep raced out to a 6-1 lead after 3 innings, on their way to a 10-3 win over Guilford on Monday afternoon at Fairfield University. The Jesuits raked out 12 hits in their win, including a 4 hit, 6 RBI game by Cooper Rotondo.
For Guilford, Matt DiNardo had a RBI single in the 2nd, Mike Buccaro had a RBI single in the 5th, and Lucas Ametrano added a solo homer in the 7th. On the mound, Brandon Rosa pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief.
The loss was the Grizzlies 6th of the year against 12 wins, as they prepare to play their final 2 regular season games at home this week. Weather permitting, their next game is scheduled for Wed., 5/15 vs. Cheshire - 4 pm. at GHS Field. Then it will be the Notre Dame - West Haven Green Knights that will visit GHS Field on Senior Day, this Friday, 5/17 at 4 pm. Family, friends and fans are encouraged to arrive by 3:30 pm. for pregame festivities.
Note: Senior Day was moved from Wed., 5/15 to Fri., 5/17 due to poor weather that is forecast for Wed.
